Use of PostHog

Within our energy management software, we use PostHog software to analyse the use of our application and to improve user-friendliness.

a) Nature and scope of data processing

PostHog uses cookies and similar technologies to collect information about the use of the software. In particular, the following data is processed:

  • Page views as well as the time and order of the pages called up
  • Navigation paths within the application
  • Browser used (including version, language and plugins)
  • Operating system used
  • Time of first and last visit
  • An internal, pseudonymous user identifier (UUID)
  • Technical performance data (e.g. loading times)
  • Usage metrics (e.g. number of actions per visit)
  • Page URLs and page titles
  • Duration of stay
  • Interactions with the user interface (e.g. clicks, so-called rage clicks and dead clicks)

The internal, pseudonymous user identifier is a randomly generated UUID that is permanently assigned to a user account and enables recognition within the application without directly identifying the data subject. The data collected is used exclusively for analysing usage behaviour as well as for improving and troubleshooting the software. We do not collect any content from form fields via PostHog. IP addresses are also not stored.

b) Purpose of processing

The processing is carried out for the purpose of:

  • Analysing the use of our software
  • Error analysis and technical optimisation
  • Improving user-friendliness and functionality

c) Legal basis

Processing is carried out exclusively on the basis of your consent in accordance with Art. 6 para. 1 sentence 1 lit. a GDPR and Section 25 para. 1 TDDDG. Without your consent, no processing will take place within the scope of PostHog.

d) Consent, withdrawal and deletion

You can withdraw or adjust your consent at any time with effect for the future via our consent banner. In addition, you have the right to request the deletion of your personal data processed within the scope of PostHog. You can contact us at any time at info@greenpocket.de for this purpose.

e) Hosting and data processing

PostHog is operated in our own infrastructure on servers of Hetzner Online GmbH in Frankfurt am Main. For individual tenants, PostHog can alternatively be used via the PostHog EU Cloud. In these cases, processing takes place on servers within Germany. In both cases, processing takes place exclusively within the European Union. There is no transfer to third countries.

f) Storage duration

The data collected is deleted on a case-by-case basis as soon as it is no longer required for the stated purposes. Deletion takes place in particular in the following cases:

  • Assertion of your right to deletion
  • Deactivation or deletion of your user account
  • Termination of the contractual relationship at tenant level
  • Longer inactivity of a user account in accordance with internal deletion guidelines
